The fabric you choose affects how a uniform fits, feels, and lasts. Here is a simple guide to the fabrics we use most for custom sports uniforms.
Polyester (The Workhorse)
Polyester is the most common fabric for sublimation uniforms. It is lightweight, dries fast, and holds color extremely well. It is the default choice for most jerseys, shorts, and hoodies.
Polyester-Spandex Blends (For Stretch)
For sports that need a close fit — wrestling singlets, rash guards, and cycling jerseys — we use polyester-spandex blends. The spandex adds four-way stretch so the garment moves with the body.
Moisture-Wicking Fabrics
For basketball, football, and running, moisture-wicking polyester keeps players dry. The fabric pulls sweat to the surface where it evaporates quickly.
Heavier Fabrics for Hoodies and Outerwear
Hoodies and warm-ups use heavier brushed polyester or cotton-blend fleece for warmth and a premium feel.
How to Choose the Right Fabric
- Fast-paced, sweaty sports: lightweight moisture-wicking polyester.
- Compression and wrestling: polyester-spandex blend.
- Cooler weather: fleece or heavier knit.
