How to Design Custom Sublimated Team Uniforms: A Step-by-Step Guide

Sublimation is the best way to print a full-color, all-over design on sports uniforms. Because the ink becomes part of the fabric, the design never cracks or peels. Here is how to design a sublimated team uniform the right way.

Step 1 — Decide the Garment and Cut

Choose the garment type first: jersey, shorts, hoodie, singlet, or rash guard. The cut affects where the design sits and how much printable area you have. See our wrestling singlets, baseball uniforms, and cycling jerseys for popular full-sublimation styles.

Step 2 — Prepare Your Artwork

We accept vector files such as AI, PDF, or high-resolution PNG. If you only have an idea or a low-quality logo, send it anyway — our design team will redraw or clean it up for free.

Step 3 — Choose Your Colors

Sublimation prints in full CMYK color with no color limit. Use your team’s exact colors. Keep text in high contrast so names and numbers stay readable from a distance.

Step 4 — Lay Out Names and Numbers

Tell us the roster with player names and numbers. We lay out every name and number in the print file so there are no added sewing or lettering fees.

Step 5 — Approve the Digital Mockup

Before production we send a free digital mockup. Check the logo position, spelling, and colors carefully. Once you approve, production starts.

Design Tips

  • Keep logos away from seams and underarm areas.
  • Use simple, bold fonts for numbers.
  • Add a sleeve or back sponsor area if you have sponsors.
